wiper blade refill
Hello again
62 Galaxie
original wiper
who makes an refill blade?
I searched both Trico and anco... I'll buy a ticket to a merry go round, next
I find more and more sites that not only waste space, but lead you nowhere...

you are probably correct...
I can't understand how buying a new blade each time is cheaper or more environmentally friendly then just the "rubber"
https://cgfordparts.com/trico-replac...z-17593-c.html
that should be the correct blade?
thanks for getting me to kick my head into gear
I was on the trico site and they had no listing for this
I think maybe Scott had them made.. they are all over the net for $11.80 +
hanky if you read this, and know about the 62 Galaxie.. Could you tell me if the hood to cowl seal is the same
width as the hood?
I have a seal, but it is short compared to the hoods width..

I don't know the exact answer to your question, but you might be able to purchase a few feet of weatherstripping and glue it to the cowl so it completes the seal.
You might be able to do what you want with some foam weatherstripping.

OK to end this conversation, I bought a pair of Scott Drake wiper refills, they arrived today.
they are made in Taiwan. they have a SS backer.
BTW the Wiper blade are Trico with part number of P_90707-1 with a 2 under that
the other one is P_90708-1
Again thanks for the input...

There are a few reasons wiper blades go south on us.
Some people spray and use the washers to clean a gritty windshield and we know what that does to the rubber. Also sunlight does a number on the rubber parts too.
What sometimes helps if the blades are not too far gone is to use some isopropyl alcohol to clean the rubber wiping surfaces. It will not damage the rubber parts and can help get a healthy blade working like new.
It is always a good idea to stick one of the older , but usable wiper blades in the trunk. There are times for some unknown reason a wiper blade will fly off when in use and if you have a spare in the trunk , it can save the day.

For such a low cost item, it's just foolish to practice band aid fixes on a wiper blade/refill to prolong its life. There's too many distracted drivers and who needs to add poor visibility to the list. It's a consumable, it's a low cost item, I would just replace the assembly and move on.
To each his own. we use to only replace Refill not buy a whole wiper assembly.. So tell me why that is better then just a blade
if you get two or three years out of a wiper then need to replace it... remember you said it, the blade is a consumable
the wiper does not go bad...
hanky yesterday I put the wipers on the buffer to bring the SS and chrome back to life, that's when I noticed that the
mount to the car, Trico but the arms that hold the blade are Anco. so someone replaced them at one time. unless
that is the way them came... I am not going to do research on that.

Believe me, I wish we could buy just refills. In a society that encourages recycling and repurposing, I does bother me to have to throw away a perfectly good blade just because the rubber is bad. It's like everything else in this world, little makes sense. I don't get hung up on it much anymore.
