Default tricky idle

i have a 87 ford bronco II and the idle fluctuates considerably to the point it will die. plus when trying to accellerate off idle it hesitates like it wants to die depending on how much throttle i give. now from the info iv'e gathered here it could be a vacuum leak or a intake manifold leak. any suggestions on ways to verify which it could be or where to look for the leak?

The way to check for an intake leak is to take carb cleaner and spray it around the seals of the intake while the vehicle is idling. If the engine revs while doing this, then there is a leak.
