What year, what is the code # need more info please

If Iam reading your question rite the O2 senser an or the wiring has failed,,, the O2 senser has a heater in it to warm up the senser so you go in loop quicker.

the abs lites theres a lil pigtail under the dash just above the floormat / carpet on the drivers side hump on most trucks, you ground that out , the lite flashes a code you get the # an its off to the races you go. ( sorry no easy answer )

The slow gas fill, chances are you got a fill hose thats crimped, just gotta look at it see if it has any sharp bends etc in it,,, or they never put the breather tube in it.

The lite thing ,, off hand I would say you probaly have a loose ground somewhere,,, or the wiring to the alt. at the term. ends are bad

The cat problem is common there is another forum that has a lot of info on that. I think it is fordcontour.org. Could be a problem with the pre cat or o2 sensor.

Again the issue with the ABS light sounds like a sensor problem. Might be a slight leak at one of the wheels.

There is a TSB about the gas fill issue and there was quite a discussion at that other site on it. It has to do with a valve at the tank. The flapper swells and sticks closed. The fuel tank must be removed to make repairs, so you need to get the recall info and have the dealer fix it.

The light dimming thing is another TSB that is for Cougars, but the fix they give fixes this problem in Contours too. Too bad we are not part of this recall. (I was just reading this one) Here it is in part......

TSB00-25-06

Article No. 00-25-6
• CHARGING SYSTEM—HEADLAMPS, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, RADIO OR INTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN COLD—VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L ENGINE ONLY
• ELECTRICAL—HEADLAMPS, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, RADIO OR INTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN COLD—VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L ENGINE ONLY

MERCURY: 1999-2000 COUGAR

ISSUE
Some vehicles equipped with a V6 engine may exhibit a flickering condition of the headlamp, instrument cluster, radio, and interior ights during engine start-up and may continue during the first several minutes of engine idle. After several minutes, the flickering will subside but may not completely diminish. This may be caused by excessive electrical resistance in the battery voltage sensing circuit. Vehicle operation is not affected by this condition.

ACTION

Reroute the battery sense line from the engine cable, untape and remove. compartment power distribution box to the B+ terminal on the alternator. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
