Exclamation Ford's Paint code/number for their red metallic clearcoat color?

Where can I find the Ford Color code?

2000 Ford Contour SE
Does anyone know what is the color code used for their exterior.
Toreador Red Clearcoat Metallic color or where can i find it... I have looked on the driver side door - it just has the tire size number and proper air pressure for the tires, there is number inside the trunk and on the hood they just have the code for the A/c, engine information and instructions for the timing belt....Also what is the best brand name to match the original paint?

There should be another label on the LF door or on the LF bodyside jamb. It will have the VIN # among other things. It will be along the bottom of the label in the center. Toreador Red should be code FL. As far as color match, there are many variables to consider. We use Sikkens products, but with all companies there are going to be variants of this color. examples: Darker, lighter , redder, bluer. Any NAPA, Carquest or other supplier should be able to help you out. We have our own camera that we place on the car in a spot that we have buffed up, and take three shots in that area. We then hook the camera up to our computer and it will give us a formula. It works amazingly well.

Toreador Red Pearl Metallic Clearcoat is "FL" or "M6758". As far as brands, I prefer either Dupont or PPG. Either are a quaility paint. It's just personal preference.
