I have a 96' Ford Contour with 2.5 V6. I have had my car garaged for 1.5 years. Now I am driving it again. So maybe I have forgotten something. When I unlock the door a little red light flashes. This light is left of the steering column and just right of the electric remote side view mirror control. Then the car won't start. After several minutes, the red light goes out and the car starts and drives fine.

Does this have something to do with remote keyless entry or anti-theft device? I remember using a remote keyless entry control. But I can't find it anymore.

Yes, that has to do with anti-theft device. You need to either find yours or get another one and program it to your car.
