Default 2000 misses at just off idle

I have a 2000 CV with 85K miles. It accererates fine and the gas mileage seems to be about the same as always. The probelm I'm having is when I'm running at a very slight, open throttle, especially in overdrive. The car seems to be missing or running intermittently when trying to hold a lower, constant speed of 30 -40 MPH on a flat road.Basically it does this anytime very little power is required.

I have not changed the plugs, which are the original, but I feel that if this was a problem it would show up more during heavy acceleration. There are no diagnostic set codes in the computer. Thanks for the help.

If you have 85k on vehicle, change the plugs first. They are close to the end of their lift. Then go from there if it still misses.

I agree that the plugs are close to the end of their life, but I'll bet just about anything that doesn't fix the problem. I can't tell you how many times, throughout my life working on cars, that I've changed plugs and had no real dramatic change in performance, only to go looking else where for the problem.

I called this a miss, but it really seems more like a constant (but slight) hesitation.

It is possible the spark plug boots are arcing also. They are bad about burning through and arcing to the head. Plugs are the cheapest thing to do. Boots are about 8 to 10 dollars each. Coils are about 80 to 100$ each. It is possible it is the TCC (torque converter clutch)solenoid. That is about 40$. Good luck. You are right that sometimes plugs will not fix it. We have about 700 CV's in our Police fleet and over 95% of the same problem has been cured by plugs and possibly a boot or two.
