3.0 2v misses at 3900 rpm and up
OK, Guys and Gals, new to this site but at my age, not new to auto repair. But most experience on older cars like my '65 Stang. Sorry for rambling - got a 2000 Taurus, standard 2 valve 3.0. After clearing up a P0401 mess, I noticed the engine will miss really badly at around 4k on the tach while in park. Haven't tried it on the open road in 2nd gear to get the rpm up. CPM checks good - no squeaks, correct signal according to o'scope and dvm. Pulled front bank plugs - look great. Should also mention this car has less than 68K on the clock. Some other forums say there's a rev limiter, others say CPM or plugs, etc. Does this engine have a rev limiter in Park/Neutral? Or has smoke been blown up my skirt??? Any ideas, suggestions, etc. will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
