Dropping an Anchor
Hey all, i am new here so if i am not following a certain process to post i apologize.. But i am running out of thoughts on this issue i am having..
I purchased a one owned 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. It has 107K miles, and spent the last 4 years covered in a garage, not driven. The original owner passed away and the grand son didn't want the car, or to sell it.. so it just sat..
When he needed the money he put the car on the market, so i got it pretty cheap.. up to his grand fathers passing the car was meticulously cared for, oil changes at the dealership every 3k miles, and it was religiously dealership maintained..
So i bought it.. i knew that it was going to need a little work.. So.
Here is a list of what i replaced..
New:
Fuel tank
Fuel tank straps
Flushed the fuel lines
Replaced the fuel pump
Replaced the fuel filter
Cleaned the throttle body
Cleaned the injectors
Replaced the Coils
Replaced the Plugs
Replaced the Air filter
New water pump
Flushed all the fluids (twice on the oil)
new transmission fluid
new brakes, rotors, and pads
new brake fluid
new tires
New belt
new tensioner
new idler pulley
New A/C Bearing
New A/C clutch
Replaced the stupid interior climate control unit
Ok..
So as you can see i really love these cars..
But here is my issue..
I get what feels like a misfire, but it's intermittent and weird, in that i assume it's a misfire, but it could be something else, what it feels like is that the there is someone strapped under the car, hitting with a rubber mallet the floorboards up by the firewall..
It has that feeling and with the same feeling what feels like is a flat spot in something spinning, but i have no idea what else could cause that hesitation feeling..
I honestly just have no idea what else it could be.. and i guess i can just keep throwing parts at it, because let's face it, the parts are cheaper than bringing it to a dealership to have it looked at.. (chances are they wouldn't figure it out either)
Oh i have a Code reader, there's no codes, and it doesn't register a misfire on any coils during a drive while watching the data.
Thoughts?
