Electrical Issue

Default Electrical Issue

Hello All
Am new to the Forum.
I have a 99 CV and this last few days the anolog and gages fuse blows when I shift to Drive. Any one has an solution.

More than likely the wires that run through the shifter are rubbing and causing a short. Remove the steering column trim and look at the wiring really close.

I thank you for taking time to RE my message. I'lldo as you suggested, do you have a specifit area?
I mention is only when I shift to drive. FUSE #13 on the fuse box isfor theWarning Lamps, Analog Cluster Gauges and Indicators, Electronic Automatic Transmission andLighting Control Module can it be that its has something to do with the transmission? am a bit worrie I have a 755 mile trip from NYC to Detroit on the 23rd.

When you get the covers off the steering column and see the wires, you will see a smalol place where the wires are nicked. It will be close to the top near where they come out of the shifter. You can repair it with electrical tape. Tou just need to keep it from rubbing on metal. I don't think it is anything any more serious than that wire.
