Hey all I have a 94 ranger and have been told I have the engine from a Crown Vic. I have the AOD trans and I am assuming the wiring harness and ECU is also from the Crown Vic. I have a set of GT40 heads and the Gt40 intake that I will installing in the future. I would like to know how the FI system works, as I have heard I can just plug an HO Mustang ECU in and just swap my plug wires and be good to go for an HO type roller cam. I think I will have to stay low on lift though with a cam because the pistons in the Crown Vic 5.0's did not have valve reliefs? Also what is a good value valve spring and what camshaft do you guys recommend. I have 3.73 gears and the heaviest thing this truck will ever pull is a small lawnmower trailer and maybe my little aluminum boat sometimes. Here are some engine pics.
