what transmissions will fit my car?

Default what transmissions will fit my car?

ok so my transmission is toast and im not sure exactly what transmission years will fit my car. mine is a 95 grand marquis

i found a transmission but its out of a 98 will it fit?

Usually a 95--96--or 97 will work. I think the 98 has a different wiring and solenoid package that is controlled by a different parameter than the 95.

I do not think so. The solenoids and wiring connectors are completely different. There are more wines in the 98 connector than the one in the 95. The 95 through 97 have all the same wiring. If you try, you will have to replace all the internal solenoids and wiring. So you may have some bad parts also thet you are trying to install in the 98. I guess if you want to make it work and are willing to do a lot of work, I guess it is possible although it is not probable.

aha! i found out thanks to the guys at crownvic.com that i can use the transmission all i have to do is repin the connectors on my vehicles wiring harness. a few people there have done it and all i need is some basic wiring skills and a diagram showing what wire goes where which i found on google
