Hi, I have a 04 Ford E-350 with a 5.4. The check engine light came on today and it started stalling when I press the brake. What is wrong with it? Just started this morning.

Please check what fault codes are present to start.

 

I had this same problem with my 01 e250 with the 5.4. Removing and thoroughly cleaning the throttle body fixed it for me. Get some of that throttle body cleaner spray they sell, or any good solvent will do. You probably dont even need to remove the throttle body just get in their with a solvent damp rag and wipe the crud out.
