I've found a van I'm interested in, but haven't seen it yet. What are some things to look out for? I know the basics, but not stuff that would be specific for that model and year.

 

Maintenance history will tell you more than specific problems. Has it seen regular or spotty maintenance ? If it looks like nothing has been done to it , expect to do some work before it might/will be reliable. If the king pins are worn , they can be a stinker to remove without special equip.and you cannot heat them. Steering linkage should be checked too.
