1989 econoline motorhome in tank fuel pump
Hi,
can anyone tell me what is be best replacement for the in tank low pressure fuel pump ?
The motor is v8 7.5L injected.
The primary pump has died and nor sure which brand to use as replacement. Cant find the ford original number.

RockAuto has a Spectrum Priemium #SP1138, Delphi #FE0070 or Carter #P74067. The carter unit also includes a new strainer sock. Any are solid, but the Carted provises the new pick-up sock. The others state to replace the sock to avoid loss of warranty.

You have a few choices. What has worked well for me was to stay with OEM when possible. There are cost considerations, but it just is not good when a below grade pump assy is installed especially in a motor home that could be far from home. Depending on who installs the unit, if you plan to do it, you might get the correct motorcraft part number according to your vehicle's VIN, from a Ford dealer, then if you choose you can purchase it on line most likely at a much lower price.
