1994 Ford E-150 Throttle Position Sensor Location
I’m wanting to know if a 1994 E-150 has a Throttle Position Sensor. It has the 5.8 V8. I found the Idle Air Control Valve and throttle body but can’t find the sensor. It has a very high idle when you start it up and it doesn’t go away. I tried cleaning the throttle body and that didn’t work.
It does have a TPS on the backside of the throttle body.
If I might , I would suggest you look for a pretty good size vacuum leak. The system is most likely sensing a lean mixture and is adding fuel to compensate resulting in a high idle RPM.
A coolant temp sensor may not be telling the truth and the computer thinks , based on that info, that the engine is cold and therefore needs extra fuel and higher RPM .
So you see, there could be a few reasons for a high idle speed and not necessarily a faulty TPS.
