Default 2001 E150 PCV valve replacement

I have the 4.2 V6 engine. Per the maintenance schedule I'm due for a new PCV valve (60K mi).

I removed the housing inside the cab, and I think I located the valve on the passenger side, on top of the valve cover, near the back of the engine. Its got 3 hoses grouped together, one that looks like the vacuum hose plus two others. I was surprised to find that the unit just sits in the hole with no fasteners of any kind to keep in securely in place. I don't know if this is right, or if some fastener is missing.

Any comments, and suggestions for replacing this valve would be appreciated.

Thanks

The unit that goes into the valve cover is the PCV valve. The two other hoses are used to heat the PCV so that it doesn't freeze up in cold weather. Ford later went with an electrically heated unit ($$$).

Thanks UCS for letting me know. I wouldn't have guessed they were coolant hoses. Do you know if those hoses have to be removed to change the PCV valve, and if so will I loose coolant when I change it out?

The hoses should be vacuum hoses that allow warm engine air to flow thru them. No coolant involved, so no coolant lost.

Alright UCS, I get it now. For some reason I was thinking coolant. Anyway, thanks a lot for taking the time to explain it to me.
