Default 2004 E350 XLT club wagon driver window stuck

2004 E350 XLT club wagon extended, electric window, 15 passenger van. Gas 8 Cyl 5.4L. Vin 1fbss31l24ha57874.
I shut the door normally, went to roll window up. Half way up, I heard loud crack and window stuck. It will not move. Frozen. Cannot find good repair manual.
This is my 4th Ford van & it's been a honey. I have less than 60,000 miles. Runs great with tires. batteries & reg maintenance. Recent replaced shocks.
Only complaint, it LOVES gasoline. Gets 10-14 mpg.
Any help appreciated.

Don't know about the "crack", but Ford vans have a bad history with window motors. And last time I bought one, only Dorman made them.

Default 2004 E350, elec motor runs but driver window will not move

Thank you for your reply
Got all inside panel off and found trouble. The CRACK noise was the cable broke right at motor for the window.
Now do I order a complete motor replacement (about $50) or figure how to fix only cable? The motor still runs but window will not budge. Suggestions?

Sorry, never worked on one with a cable. The old ones were gear driven.

I believe you can still get an OEM window regulator which would be the best, but costliest option. If you wish to opt for an aftermarket, there's always Dorman. Here's a link to one on Amazon. You can get the same part at autozone, but it will be about 20 dollars more. I recommend replacing the entire regulator rather than attempting to fix it.

Amazon Amazon

Here's an OEM unit from Rock Auto.

Dorman is pretty much junk. For my '85 no OEM were available and although the Dorman motors had a warranty, replacing them twice a year was a pain, because they were riveted in.

You probably installed it wrong. Don't make random generalizations based off a single experience.
