4.9 dies when stopped
1992 E-150 4.9
185,000--does not use oil or smoke. Develops full power on the road. Was a Floral van and has never been worked hard but well maintained.
I stopped at a stop sign and it went dead. Would not crank until it cooled down. Replaced Fuel pump and drained tank, replaced fuel filter, main computer, fuel pressure regulator, plugs wires, cap, ignition module, fast idle air motor.
When cold the van cranks and runs perfect except at the first stop and then it goes dead and when it does crank there is lots of black smoke from tail pipe. Do any of you have any suggestions as to how to repair it?
thanks--shakerag
