Default 99 E-150 Brakes

Hello all. I have a 99 e-150 van. I slow down and around 10 to 5 km the brake pedal goes hard and the truck will not stop. After about 10 or so feet the abs comes on and the brakes stop. History of repairs.--New rear shoes, combi-kit,wheel cylinders, drums and axle brake lines. Rebuilt calipers and pads. Replaced abs module assy. Bleed brakes--rr,lr,rf,lf. Pedal is great and no codes or lights on. On scan tool the front two and rear diff sensors are the same even when the brakes fail. Brand new master cylinder installed and all bled again. Again great pedal till I come close to a stop. Above slowing down pedal is great and can almost lock up brakes. Abs then kicks in to a good stop. What am I missing. If any one has a wiring scematic of the abs,anti-lock system,it would be great. Thanks Tony

Did the vehicle have this problem before you replaced all those parts?

Did you check /confirm wiring connections and operation of wheel speed sensors. Usually low speed brake prob caused by WSS.

Yes sir. Even disconnected each one and light came on and gave a code. All wiring connections clean. Drove it today and all was good then started to do it again. Your coming to a stop and the pedal goes hard, the truck keeps rolling, the abs then kicks in about 10 feet farther and stops. Pedal after that is great. Beginning to think the replaced abs control is bad also.

Sure sounds like it !
Have you tried pulling the ABS fuse and see if the problem goes away?

Sorry for the late comeback. Been away. Yes I pulled the #2 fuse and the brakes are working great. No abs of coarse and the brake and abs light are on in the dash. Maybe a piece of black tape for now till I can figure out what the problem is.
