Death wobble on 4x4 van = need advice
Hi, we have a 2000 E350 van that was converted professionally that developed a death wobble after 1.5 years, under guarantee they replaced the parts on the front end. now it's only been since February and it's back. I don't know what to replace on the front end. someone hinted that we switch over to Chevy steering parts as they can be greased. another suggested i turn the adjustable shocks to #5 if it''s on #3. I don't take this off road, we live on dirt roads and cruise at 20-25 mph, it's maddening!!
this wobble starts when I hit a bump, not when I am braking.
Help!
Thanks,
Stephen

Death wobbleon 4x4 van
Yes, we went to Toys for Trucks in Hesperia, CA and they put on 2 new steering stabilizers, not Ford products either, but beefy off road ones. I had one stock stabilizer and it didn't last even a half year.
No more death wobble!!!

I forgot to say, they said the van must have been in an accident before I bought it, they straightened the frame and welded some cracks in it too. one of the coil spring cans was broken. so I assume it was the combination.

watch this video, this is what ours was doing. of course the cracks in the frame could have been from the wobble too.... all I know is now it's gone.

i have this on my 08 f250 4x2, its a bit mild for now but i know it will get worse over time. its really annoying. the whole cab vibrates and the pedals too. i just got my truck 1 month ago. its fraustrating. is this problem isolated to 4x4's? because most of the trucks ive seen with death wobble problems are 4x4's.

I know that with these SAS conversions to the E series, if you don't change the factory pitman arm to the longer style, then you will have a ton of death wobble. Many of these applications require the use of a aftermarket trackbar as well since the rear shackle mounts aren't at the best of angle. I know Ujointoffroad.com sells all these parts to fix ya.
Hope this helps
