Default E-350 Shift Lever Won’t Go Past Neutral

I have a 92 E-350 RV , and when I went to go move it the other day from sitting , it wouldn’t go into drive. It engages in park, neutral, and reverse but when I try to put it in drive it’s like the shift lever is being blocked by something and the needle won’t move past N. The same feeling you get when you try to move the shift lever out of park without you putting your foot on the break. I checked the shift linkage and it seems to be fine and I tried looking things up throughout the internet and haven’t been able to have any luck. Does anybody have an idea what’s going on? I appreciate everyone’s help and time. Thank you

There have been problems with the screws holding the bottom part of the shift lever together, you need to verify they are all there and in place and tight.
