I'm 18 and have a 1978 E-150,4.9 inline 6 that I'm fixing up and need to change the head but don't know what years would fit. Can anyone help me??

 

? why do you need to change the head is it cracked ??? , if it just needs to be re-conned , any machine shop should be able to do that , Also if the head is cracked an non- repairable then any junkyard can tell you what year heads will inter change with yours, I'am quite sure any head from the 70's to mid 80's should fit however
