So, my cool new conversion van has interior lights in the top and on the sides, 2 sections, one up higher and one lower bank on each side.

The lower one on the passenger side, appears to have burnt out. I took it all apart, and its some kind of wire with tiny lights strung through a plastic piece with channels. Its behind a piece of wood trim with a dark plastic piece covering the actual light piece.

I'm just wondering if these could be replaced with stings of led lights instead of these tiny incandesants.

Anyone converted these type of lights to led? They sell 12volt led stirings, seems like it would be easy to replace and wire right in.

Just wondering if its been done, what to look out for, if led strings can be wired right in, etc.
