Default Overdrive switch question

This is related to my other trans shift issue, just thought I would let it have it's own discussion.

I was told there was a mod or retrofit for the 2003 style overdrive control that makes it default to o.d. off at start up instead of "on" at start up. Meaning you would need to turn o.d. on at higher speeds. Something to do with adding a relay or switching wiring. Obviously running larger tires we don't need overdrive as early.

Has anyone heard of this or did I hear bad info?

Thanks, Joe

it shouldn't matter what the tire size is if it works like it should leave it alone

On that year OD usually engages around 40 MPH. What does your speedometer show when it is engaging with the larger tires?

Hmm, Hanky you could be on to something. The bigger tires might make it engage overdrive earlier due to the larger circumference of the tire. speedometer reads 30-35 when it hesitates depending how hard your stepping on it (interesting). So my van might o.d. might engage sooner? And it doesn't hesitate at any shift when I have o.d. turned off.
