Power source to hardwire a dash cam? (2005 E350 cargo)
I have a 2005 E350 cargo van, and I would like to hard wire a dash/drive camera. I was going to tap into the cig lighter socket, but it seems that they are always on, even when the van is shut off and key is out of ignition?
Is there a power source that is ignition controlled?

Would you believe me if I told you Ford electrical systems do not like add on's especially those controlled by the key switch.
In order to keep extraneous voltage fluctuations away from the PCM, I would suggest you wire it directly from the lighter circuit with a separate properly fused on/off switch.
