Remember that the up/down function is polarity reversed through the master switch..

If the reg/motor is rotated to lock, and battery and ground are added for the same direction, it still won't run even though both circuits are good, unless polarity is then reversed to take the regulator the other direction..

Anyone have any ideas? I need to be able to drive this van, but with it 100+ outside, it's too hot to drive it with the driver's window up.

As Hayapower suggested the polarity has to be reversed for the motor to operate after it reaches the end of the travel. It isn't too bad to remove the master switch if I recall correctly. Have you checked the master switch to confirm that it is actually reversing the polarity ?
I break out in a sweat reading these posts because it's getting hotter!!
Is it any cooler there early in the AM to consider trying to do the checks?

The other side still works and goes through the driver's side switch. What would be the easiest way to check it? I suppose if I can get the wires out, I might be able to hook it to the other switch. Might be able to check it early tomorrow morning. I had heat stroke a few years ago and can't handle the heat anymore.

Just take it slow and easy and you will find the problem and solve it.

Anyone know how the wire comes out of those switches? Are they soldered or clamped or just pushed in?

How do you check the switch to see if it's reversing polarity?

Well, the switch is reversing polarity. I hook a voltmeter to the wires where they go into the motor, without pulling the motor, and I have power going into the motor. If I plug in an old motor to where this one plugs in, it will turn both directions. I guess I will have to change motors again. UGH. Won't have time for a few days.

Wonder how much it would bring as scrap?
