Shifting difficulties? FYI
My '97 E150 had all the problems like everyone.
I went and replaced column shaft,tube, bushings, lever & pin.
STILL hard and sloppy to engage each selected gear!
I went underneath and unhooked cable,thinking it was broken or binding.
Smooth as butter.

> The original had become cracked by the swelling of shaft corrosion - forcibly pinching internals...
Better than new!
