Are you sure of the trans being a C6 instead of an E4OD ?
If it is an E4OD , , not a good idea !

It's a 1990 van with a c6 and the one I'm putting in is an aod.

This goes back a bit, but,

C6- P R N D 2 1

AOD - P R N (D) D1

Is this what you were looking for?

A C 6 was a tough trans, why would you want to go to an AOD ?
