Hi, my starter is apparently not working. I jumped it, and it didn't help. It's making a sorta clicking sound when I turn the key. I haven't done a deep dive yet to find the starter. I looked on both sides of the engine, though, and could not find it. I did find the distributor. Would it be on the same side as distributor? I was hoping I could tap the starter and get it to start. Do you know if this vehicle has a solenoid mounted on the firewall, or is it on the starter? I am 65 and not in good health so I don't have much enthusiasm for the job. But I'll do my best. Then once I get it to start, I'll sell it. I rarely use it.

 

Starter is on the right/passenger side. Low on the block between the engine and nosed into the trans. There is an engine bay mounted solenoid, right side, and following the red battery positive cable will route you direct..

 

Thank you. I see you have a truck not a van. But perhaps the engines are the same. I assume it would be on the same side as the battery, which is the driver's side. But I trust you.
