We bought our edge earlier this year, and since owning it, we had been suffering from whiplash almost every morning. It slams into a gear, feeling like we have just been rear-ended! It got so bad, our pregnant daughter-in-law could not get in the car if we were just starting out, we had to go around the block and come back to pick her up. We've had it in the shop several times, even had a flight recorder hooked up, and are being told the box picked up nothing electrical, however, "it could beon the "other side" that does not register." We have camcorder proof of what it is doing, the dealership admits there is something wrong with it, but FORD won't let them do anything about it. Our service manager has even contacted a previous dealership of a previous incident to someone else, and they were told of what their outcome was,,,,,changing the transmission. What does it take to get some help from FORD??? Does anybody have any suggestions? We are at our breaking point.

So,, when the unit warms up,or at normal temp are the shifts 'and' start off OK,, no bang at all? Tere's a TSB 08-23-16 in regards to 'Harsh driveline clunk' felt at low speed below 10mph for stop and go driving or 'tip in'..

If it's a 'severe' drop into gear without any 'pull or launch' feel on intial drive/engagment attempt (on a roll away) it sounds more like a pump/line pressure problem where a gear is first selected, and usually the engine revs and then the pressure comes on line with total engagment, thenbang.. Is that what your descibing?
