My wife is interested in buying a Ford Edge 2007 or newer. I am curious if there are any known issues that I should be aware of? I hear there may be some sort of transmission problems. Any information regarding known issues with the Edge would be appreciated.

I have a 2009 Ford Edge Sport. It is my wife's commute car and our family weekend runaround vehicle. My wife drive it about 50 miles a day and I drive it quite a bit on the weekend. We got it used and have had it for a year. I've never had any transmission issues (knock on wood). It shifts great. That probably doesn't help much with your question on a 2007, but for what it is worth I'd buy an Edge again. Its a great car.

I bought ( Brand New ) a 2010 Edge Sport / 3.5 V6 which is my wife' car . It's a great vehicle , and there are no issues with it .
( Except Fuel Milage ) -- See My Posting in this forum --

I say this , because it is an AWD Sport , and we live in Western , NY and my wife feels safer driving in the winter with AWD .
If you are content with just having Front Wheel Drive , then the Fuel Milage will be OK , and also , if you don't need the performance of a V6 engine , then a 4 cylinder will give even better milage . These vehicles ride nice and run pretty quiet . They also hold the road really good . Our 2010 Edge came with 20" Low Profile Tires & Chrome wheels . I was able to locate and purchase a set of 4 / 17" / Wheels with TPMS Sensors and after some reaserch bought 4 / 245 - 60 R17 Tires to have for winter use . The 17" to 20" difference was less than 1/4 to 1/2 an inch , so when the car travels at 65 MPH with the 20" tires , it does 64.7 MPH with the 17" tires . It's so little that it doesn't affect any computer settings .
