Default Replaced Head Gasket. Battery dies quick

2012 Edge 2.0 eco boost
Okay this project is still in the works. I am having multiple issues, but the issue I want to focus on right now is the Battery drain.

After changing the head gasket I try to crank the engine. It cranks, and sounds like it wants to start.

Problem is the battery loses charge after about two cranks. When hooked up to another vehicle via jumper cables I can get a few more cranks out of it before it wont do anything, and have to let it sit on the jumper cables for a few min to try again.

I do know (according to codes) that the fuel rail pressure is low, and I have a new fuel pump coming at some point today.

Not knowing how everything was assembled,,I would do a compression test and at least verify timing is on the money.

Battery could be part of the problem, but we learn to recheck our work to make sure we didn't overlook anything.

Thanks Hanky.
I have rechecked the timing about 3 times now. It all seems to be good. TDC puts the cams in line. However I don't have a compression testing tool. Is there a way to test compression w/o one?

Okay, I think the problem is solved but I don't know what fixed it.

I unplugged/replugged every fuse and relay (one at a time) testing for parasitic drain...couldn't find any fuse causing it.

Now there doesn't seem to be a drain on the battery...cranked it a couple times checked the battery and its still charged.

Maybe something reset in the unplugging of fuses?

It has a constant draw of 2.45 amps...I don't know what the normal power off draw should be.

Most manufacturers use the drain figure of 50 milliamps, =0.050 amps.

Something like a lamp could be that amount, but it could be anything.
