Good afternoon!

The LCD that displays the shift gear position as well as the odometer no longer illuminates. Is there a replaceable bulb? And if so, how do you get at it?

Thank you so very much!

I have a 2002 Escape XLT with 114K miles. The LCD display backlightfor the odometer/gearshiftindicator no longer works. Not good driving at night.

Is there anything I can do? I noticed that no one responded to the original posting. There probably isn't a large number of Escapes with the problem.

Good Day,
I'm new to this forum, but noticed this thread and thought I might add.
I also have the same problem with the illumination not working in the mileage/gear selection portion of the cluster. My understanding is if you want to fix this problem the instrument cluster must be removed and has to be sent out for service, yes there are companies out there that do this sort of repair.
Thank you
