I'm working on my daughters Escape v6 with ~160,000 miles. It recently threw codes 300,301 and 316 with the MIL on. I'm working through this and
have so far checked coils, all work ok but secondary resistance is 5.3 kohms, I read somewhere 6 k is minimum, anyway they all fire ok with spark tester.
Cylinder #1 had an oiled plug so I just ordered valve cover gasket set to replace along with boots and plugs. I also read that there was a TSB related
to passing valves or valve seals. I do not have a compression tester, is it worth buying one before i put this back together its a pain to get to the back
3 spark plugs? Anyone experience this before? Any advice appreciated. I also found this in the engine bay (photo) and have no idea where it came from?
