Default 2003 escape headlights

I find my ford escape xlt headlights are not very bright. I noticed that some other escapes (possibly newer) have high intensity discharge headlamps. (on the limited perhaps?).. Are these interchangeable on the 03' xlt?

thanks

I have the '02 XLT Escape. I have put xeon (blue) bulbs in mine. I get people flashing their lights at me when mine are on dim.

I don't believe any Escapes are from the factory with HID lights. it's not an option.

I believe what you are seeing is the 2005 lamp. I 2005 they went to a clear lence that may appear to be HID

The 2005 lamps will bolt in but some wirring modification is needed.

I have a 2002 Escape, and certainly feel the newer models have cooler looking lights. I have often wondered if the newr are HID lights, but according to the person below, they are not. Thanks for the clarification.
