2003 escape stalls from park to reverse/drive
I hope you installed an OEM (Ford) IAC motor. They usually work the first time.
If the Switch that tells the computer the vehicle is going into gear is not sending the correct info to the computer all the time, which then informs the IAC to increase RPM , the switch might have a problem.

Agreed^ The part number you should have is YL8Z-9F715-AA (#YL8Z9F715AA: IDLE SPEED CONTROL. Idle valve.) for a 2.0L and 1L8Z-9F715-AA (#1L8Z9F715AA: VALVE ASY - THROTTLE AIR BY-PA) for a 3.0L. If you have a different number than one of those or if you used an aftermarket replacement you may have an issue.
why would OEM work and aftermarket not...I work for a ford dealership in nj and the contacts I have say that's not always so. but as an employee should I be loyal to OEM. my local garage took off IAC and put old one back on and gave me credit. my ford dealership would not do that.$$$$$
thoughts are now of going back to ford recall 04S13(2004) to reprogramming PCM. this has been very hard to figure out. and we are not getting any codes.

Thanks for the opportunity to maybe shed some light on this subject.
At one time I represented an aftermarket supplier of products and believe it or not sold stuff to various dealers that I had always thought were OEM only.
There are aftermarket suppliers that supply decent stuff that is good quality with solid engineering behind their work.
Unfortunately,,, there are Many others that push what we all know as white box specials and aren't worth the cardboard box they come in. A good part of the time $$$$$$ is what decides what lines they will sell and the inexperienced person(s) pay a lower price for the junk. I can only say from many personal experiences that it was rare to have any problems with dealer sold parts. The cost was a little higher, but I do not know too many people that like doing the job over and worse, thinking it is new, what can possibly be wrong with that newly installed part.
There are other circumstances where individual dealerships run their businesses as they choose and some don't have the best reputation. I also worked at one time for a Ford dealership and they provided excellent service and were very above board with their dealings. I would like to refer any interested party to the IATN website and read all the horror stories regarding inferior aftermarket parts out there. There are good and not so good parts available out there, the tough part is knowing which are which before you learn the hard way.

It is unfortunate that you can't get assistance from your employer, maybe not work, but at least something to help. It is somewhat difficult to offer solutions to vague problems. If you desire to share the code with us , it could be like getting a possible second opinion. Thanks.
