I have a 2004 Ford Escape XLS in which I want to get fitted out with the Tow Package. I have a boat that I just bought that combined weight of trailer/boat is at 3,300#. Everything I read it says the tow capacity of the Escape is 3,500#. Has anyone ever came this close to maxing out the capacity of the Escape in towing?

Just to note, I would only be towing the boat about 6 to 10 miles from my home at any given time to the closest lake.
