My daughter is coming home from school and I want to replace the front pads of her 2008 Ford Escape. I have replaced brake pads on many of my cars for years but with all the new technology, I don't want to get half way into the job and find out I need a special tool or have to do some trick to get the pads off.

Can anyone offer me some advice or guidance on how to do this project?

No tricks..

A couple dust plugs on the backside of the calipers covering the guide pin access, then with the caliper removed, remove anti rattle clips..

Is there any pad thickness sensors ? If so, can the be reused ? I only have 3,000 miles on mine, but thought I would ask.
