So I bought my Escape in November of 2018 and it only had 120000 kms on it. I noticed right away it was very sluggish from take off and whenever you floor it. Had my throttle body replaced but that wasn't it. Has anyone had this problem and found a way too fix it?

 

How does it perform once you get up to speed?
Is the problem present only when starting off?

 

Once you get up to speed it's great it's just whenever you put the pedal down that it hesitates, almost like it needs to take a quick breath of air before it engages. The worst is when you wanna quickly pass someone if your doing 50-100 it doesn't make a difference

 

Do you know if anybody changed the fuel filter?

 

I have no idea, it's "supposed" to have a lifetime filter

 

All it has is a filter sock in the tank and they can clog too. Might need to confirm available fuel pressure and volume . If there is a problem there, the check should include checking the fuel pump driver module and the electrical supply and grounds before condemning a fuel pump assy. After all it has been in there over 10 years.

 

Is there any codes present? Can you run a engine running self test? You will need a full capacity scan tool to do that. Not something autozone can do.
Doing a on demand test would be a good first step is possible.
