My 2010 escape is experiencing some problems. As I am driving, the vehicle will lose all power and start running very rough. Reminds me of forgetting to hook a vacuum line back up in a previous car I had. I turn the car off and it immediately starts up and runs fine. This has happened 3 times in the past 3 days.

I had Autozone hook up the diagnostic and no codes were found. they also checked the battery and alternator but both were good.

Could this be a bad cam position sensor? any and all ideas are appreciated.

 

Forgot to add that the check engine light flashes while the vehicle is losing power and running like crap. The light goes out after I turn the car off and then turn it back on.
