I just purchase a 2011 Ford Escape. I only have one key so I hope I have the right key to reprogram mykey. How do I determined if I have the right key to program mykey?

 

Unfortunately, you, need 2 programmed keys to program any more.
The dealer or a capable locksmith can program a second key for you.
There are times when one key for some reason loses it's programming and now you need the second key to even get the car started, otherwise its a road call from the dealer or the capable locksmith. (capable means they have the correct scan tool to program the keys).
Not a good idea to wait and forget to get this done.
Can you get the other key from the place where you purchased the vehicle?
