First , just what did your repair shop say they did ?
The axles are usually retained by a "C" clip and that is supposed to be prevented from coming off by the tolerance between the axle bearing and the axle housing. Also a shaft is kept in place in the differential that prevents the axle from going in where the "C" clip can come off. Something is getting overlooked and it could be any one of the following, distorted axle, axle housing, internal damage to the differential side gear & possibly some problem with the C clip itself. This is all speculation and a complete and thorough exam of all the affected parts should be performed. The correct repair might have been pretty expensive and that might be why the conditional title.

The dealership that repaired it said they had to file down the shaft in order for it to “snap” in. They said they had a hell of a time getting to to snap in. My thought is maybe when the previous owner repaired it he used a different sized shaft? Not exactly sure thanks for the reply
IMHO there is something not quite right here. You don't file anything or alter anything. You determine what is wrong and correct it. When the correct parts don't fit , you find out why and straighten it out. Until that is done the problem will not go away. I am somewhat surprised that a dealership would allow that kind of work to be done. Not actually seeing the entire differential and what is wrong as stated earlier is simply speculation. For a 2014 vehicle it may be worth to replace the entire differential housing assy if the correct parts won't work. Do you feel the expense to correct this is worth it to you?
