2015 Escape thud when backing up
I can't seem to find any write ups about the issues I am having. Now before I describe this let it known it does not happen all the time. Anyhow when I first get into the escape in the morning I let it warm up a minute, move from park to reverse then start backing up. I hear what reminds me of a thud sound and I don't know if its just me but I can feel it as well. Now it doesn't do it all the time and its only when backing up, Is this normal with the drivetrain or something to be concerned about? Car has 34k.

Anytime you sense or hear anything unusual or not normal is something that should be checked out. There are times when it is not something serious and unfortunately there those other times when the problem is trying to tell you something.
Can you try going forward for a few feet before shifting into reverse and see if the problem is still there? Does your vehicle sit outside overnight or is it parked in a garage?
Sometimes brake pads can stick close to the rotor and will give that sensation when first attempts to move are made. Several things can cause this type problem and the better way is to try the process of elimination if no definite cause is immediately seen.
