Default Air Bag Indicator

Hi folks

My Air Bag Indicator came on while driving yesterday. It flashes 4 times, then 7 times, then repeasts this sequence over a number of times before staying on constantly.

2005 model. Can anyone help out out with it's meaning?

best,
Bugsyoz

Are you sure it is a LFC 47? I have nothing in the service manual for that code, I have a 46 and a 49...

Thanks for the reply - i believe it is a 46. Although if you could let me know 46 and 49 it would be much appreciated.

46 refers to passenger side impact sensor status, 49 relates to the seat track sensor, depends on the hard code from a scanner whether it is a short, resistance out of range, or other circuit problem.

If this is a hybrid Escape, I advise you not to attempt repairs, very good chance of causing high voltage problems. Might check with your dealer, a lot of the safety equipment has a longer warranty.
