Default Camshaft sensors location

2015 Ford Escape SE 2WD
Engine: 1.6L GTDI Sigma Turbo DOHC

Looked for hours and I get conflicting locations. One says “on the rear side of the cylinder head, near the firewall”. Another: “Both camshaft position sensors are on the top side of the engine's cylinder head”. A third: “One sensor is located directly under the air intake duct” (so where is the second?).

Picture of engine attached for reference.

I am loosing my mind and eyesight searching. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To the left of the intake flex tubing, just under the U shaped tube you will see a sensor with 3 wires, that should be one of them. Now you know what to look for the other should be easier for you to see and find.

Most of the time connections can be the problem. Make sure the sensor 3 wires are clean and tight.
