Default cig lighter

Hello,

Can I set my cig lighter to power off when I remove the keys from the ignition ? I need to do this for my ipod.

Yes it can be done, but not knowing how your lighter is powered you could change the voltage source from where it gets it presently to a source controlled by the ign system. One of the problems that could arise up the road is when someone else plugs something in there that draws more current than your ipod it could overload the ign system circuit unless a small current fuse is installed in the new circuit to prevent that from happening.
Some vehicles don't like additions to the ign circuit and will come up with unbelievable problems.
Best to have someone familiar with your type vehicle and have the change done correctly.
