just acquired 2009 escape xlt- drivers floor soaked after rain-traced it down to moonroof drain- ran weed eater line down to discover the tube is open ended behind dashboard up high above floor. Problem is i cannot find where it connects (possibly just came unattached to fitting?) or if it just needs re-routing to its proper location? i cannot find a diagram anywhere to show me the proper route for the tube.

 

Your on the right track, I would assume there should be another hose it connects to to empty out under the vehicle, You could take apart the pass side and see how that is set up, should be same side to side.
If there is suppose to be a second hose then you could buy some hose and route it out to under the vehicle so it drains correctly.
