Default Radio Code

Just bought 4 cyl. 2012 Escape and plan to disconnect battery before electrical work. Does anyone know if this car requires a radio code? If so, anyway to find code before disconnecting battery?

I have never heard of any Ford requiring a radio code.
The radio is one of the modules in the CAN system and you might lose the station settings , but that radio has to function for the system to have communication or the vehicle may never be allowed to start. Other brands may have this problem , but pretty sure Ford does not.

To be sure just call your local Ford dealership service dept and they should be able to verify that for you.

Default Radio Code

Thanks to Hanky for replying but I'm still hoping someone might have experience specifically with the 2012 Escape. Some Fords do use radio codes and there's info on this forum about it but I can't find anything about it for the Escape.
