Default Rear wiper is spitting fluid. Help.

I have 2008 Ford Escape. My rear window washer just started shooting fluid for no reason. I'm not running the front or the rear washers at all. It happens intermittently but pretty regularly since it started yesterday. Any ideas?

Hi Tim,
I don't know if this could be the problem with your vehicle, but because the wiring to the rear hatch is constantly getting flexed ,there is a possibility the wire controlling the rear washer has managed to rub through and complete the circuit for the washer to operate. I know this sounds far fetched, but there have been all sorts of problems with that cable assy and it just could be one of the possibilities. It might require a little moving around to get it to happen or after moving it the problem might disappear temporarily. The only way to be sure would be to open the covering and check the wires that operate the washer motor.
