I have a 2012 escape and I’ve replaced starter twice cause it sometimes won’t engage and start. I don’t know what it could be so please help and thanks.

 

Are you sure it's not the solenoid chattering? Where are you buying your starters? I would only buy OEM or NAPA as an alternative, nowhere else.. If you are getting them from a large chain store like Autozone, I would be very suspicious. If there's a problem with the Bendix gear on the starter, that could mess up the teeth on your flywheel.
